FAQs
What’s the difference between SHR and IPL?
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) uses a single intense pulse of energy that targets melanin, which makes it highly effective for dark and coarse hair. However, this translates into less efficiency for finer or light hair folks.
People with a high melanin skin count or naturally darker-skinned people will find IPL sessions less tolerable since their skin will absorb more heat energy.
SHR uses gentler pulses of energy at a higher frequency rate so with this advanced technology, your skin is heated gently through the melanin and the stem cells with a lower energy of 48 degrees but with a higher frequency of rapid pulsating light.
What is the recommended treatment frequency?
SHR treatment should only be carried out once monthly in order to allow ample time in between sessions for the best rejuvenation of your skin.
The efficiency of the treatment is highly dependent on how dedicated you are to it. The best you can do, is to ensure a minimally monthly visit for your first few sessions. When regrowth has become visibly lesser and finer, you may cut your sessions back to once every 2-3 months.
How many treatments should I go for significant results?
Skin areas with thicker hair follicles may require 1-3 sessions before visible results can be experienced. Depending on the natural density and thickness of your hair, it may take 7-10 sessions to see a significant difference.
